Characteristics

Very dark shiny green on upper side of the leaves, contrasting with light dull green on the underside. The undersides of the leaves have pits. It grows on the sides more than in height, making a large web of stems and spade shaped leaves that you can get tangled in. The stems have warts. Has a very pleasant, strong odor. When the leaves dry they turn very dark. Hard to say because only immature stages have been found at 2800m.

Location

Found in a Oyacachi highland cloud forest isolated by Cayambe paramo (3286m).
