Josia ligata has not yet been reared at Yanayacu, but the species is common at a nearby site - along the banks of the Río Quíjos outside the town of Baeza. The specimen shown bears the following label data: ECUADOR; Carchi, Mira, 14 May 1994, leg. Elicio Tapia.
