Observations and Comments

This species is known exclusively from the eastern slope of the Ecuadorian Andes (see Miller, 2009; Bull. Am. Mus. Novit. No. 609). It's sister species, N. hermani, is found on the western slope. Nebulosa grimaldii is extremly rare, being currently known from four specimens. The specimen shown bears the following label data: ECUADOR: Napo; Yanayacu Biological Station, S00º35.9', W77 º53.4', 2163 m, 4-5 Mar 2003, at light UV/MV, leg. S Rab Green & M. Tapia, eastern cloud forest, undisturbed.
