Educational Outreach

They’re scientists. They’re teachers. They’re scientists and teachers! In the Chemical Ecology Lab at Tulane University, the amazing researchers and scientists have brought the world of education into their workspace to show teachers students what kind of work they do and invite them join along!

Have a glance at the teacher/researchers’ websites below, where they have documented their scientific journeys and provided lesson plans, pictures, and video answers to questions. Check out the “Ask a Scientist” weekly to ask questions and look for video responses from the dedicated graduate students and researchers here in the lab.

Through a partnership with the Earthwatch Institute and Tulane University’s Chemical Ecology Lab, this page is a resource for teachers and students to use to help bring the study of caterpillars, ecosystems, and the effects of climate changes on them.
Bringing real science into the classroom!
