Observations and comments |
Larvae feed in very large groups (up to >100 individuals) on the undersides of leaves. They cut the main vein of the leaf and feed beneath a loose web. Larvae will strip away the entire lower lamina of the leaf leaving a tent-like shell. In later instars (4th or 5th) larvae separate and feed singly or in smaller groups of 2 or more. |
